What the stat does that mean?

ALLEY-OOP

The first power-up introduced into the Backyard. An alley-oop occurs when the ball deflects off of a player or their paddle (which would typically result in a dead ball), and their teammate returns the ball over the net prior to the ball hitting the ground, allowing the point to continue.

AVERAGE OPPONENT RATING

AOR: The average ranking of all opponents faced. If a team consisted of the #1 and #3 ranked players, the average ranking would be 2 (1 + 3 = 4. 4 / 2 players = 2).

BACKYARD PICKLEBALL RATING

BPR: Pronounced "beeper" is a superior alternative to the common DUPR, which is used to standardize a player's skill level. A Backyard Pickleball Rating is composed of a sophisticated formula comprised of a proprietary blend of data. Further information is provided within these blogs:

BODY BAG

A shot that hits the body of the opposing player, thereby winning the point.

COMEBACK

Trailing by four (4) points or more at any point during a game, and then overcoming the deficit to tie the game. The counterpart to a blown lead.

Not all comebacks are comeback wins, but all comeback wins are comebacks.
